After 5 years at the National Institute for Biological Standards and Control, Roy became Head of Protein Chemistry at Delta Biotechnology and subsequently Head of Research at Andaris Ltd and Director of intellectual property at Quadrant Healthcare. He set up Bio Vector solutions in 1999, which became Advanced Protein Systems Ltd in 2003.
